Necessary Qualifications:

Education: Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

License/Certification:

  • Possession of Basic or Advanced Life Support certification is compulsory.
  • Current license or provisional license by a reputable Medical Board (MRT) is a necessity.
  • Registration as a Radiology Technologist by a recognized Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R) is mandatory.

Experience / Skills / Knowledge:

  • The ability to lift and/or maneuver patients along with others to execute job functions.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Performs radiography (x-ray) examinations on patients ensuring compliance with all radiation safety procedures. Prepares patients for the exam, records patient’s vital signs, explains the procedure, administers IV and contrast when necessary, positions patients for the exam, chooses appropriate imaging techniques, and verifies the technical quality of the images.
  • Inputs and monitors patient information.
  • Executes quality checks on radiology equipment.
  • May assist with the initial and renewal application for industry-specific accreditations.
  • Recognizes and reports any accidents, customer complaints, or issues with equipment to department management.
  • Takes emergency calls within the department. May be required to work weekends and rotate to other locations as needed.
  • May conduct breath alcohol tests and/or urine drug screens.
  • May be required to perform patient registration tasks such as insurance verification, payment collection, etc.
  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff, and visitors. Adheres to all of the client's policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary considerations, including time management, supply management, productivity, and service quality.
  • Fosters individual professional development and growth by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills proficiency. Supports goals set by the department which contribute to the success of the organization.
  • Carries out other tasks as directed.
