Job description

Necessary Qualifications:

Educational Requirement: Completion of an approved School of Radiologic Technology

License/Certification:

  • Possession of Basic or Advanced Life Support Certification is a must.
  • One of the following sets of credentials is mandatory:
  • Certification as a MRI Technologist from a well-known Radiologic Technologists Registry; or
  • Certification as a Radiological Technologist from a well-known Radiologic Technologists Registry and Certification as an MRI Technologist from a well-known Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists Registry.

Experience / Skills / Knowledge:

  • Capable of lifting or moving patients in coordination with others to execute job functions.
  • Displays dedication to the process of collaborative work by incorporating the culture of the client in all interactions with internal and external customers. Candidates are expected to uphold the pledge of "promoting health" via innovation, responsibility, empowerment, teamwork, empathy, and result orientation.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Executes MRI procedures for patients: Readies patients for the MRI examination, elucidates the process, administers contrast if needed, arranges patients for the MRI scanner, selects suitable imaging techniques, and verifies the technical quality of the scan.
  • Inputs and supervises patient information.
  • Performs quality checks on magnetic resonance equipment and matrix camera. Could assist with the initial and renewal application for certifications specific to the industry.
  • Identifies and reports any incidents, customer complaints or issues with equipment to department management.
  • Undertakes emergency call responsibilities within the department.
  • Ensures the safe care of patients, staff, and visitors; complies with all the client's policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary considerations including time management, supply management, productivity, and service quality.
  • Advocates for individual professional development and growth by meeting requirements for mandatory/ongoing education and skills proficiency. Backs goals set by the department which contribute to the success of the organization. Acts as a mentor, guide and resource to less experienced personnel.
  • Carries out other tasks as allocated.
